ATM Tanks – Australia’s Leading Industrial Fire Tank Builders.
Our commercial panel tanks are made large enough to hold a significant volume of water for use in fire suppression systems or to be diverted to hydrants. Our production system has been created to ensure we deliver the highest quality tanks for each of our clients, with a goal to satisfy our own high expectations (and yours too). Some facts about our industrial fire tanks:
- Our tanks are made from steel panels that are bolted together in a modular fashion. In this way, each project can be customised to our client’s individual needs.
- We fabricate our panels in-house with Australian construction-grade steel to ensure the quality of our tanks.
- The tanks are suited to hold between 80 thousand litres and 10 million litres, this is ideal for the fire protection needs of large or small commercial properties.
- Our large panel tanks have a design life of 25 to 50 years depending on the roof and waterproofing specifications. This is around half the design life of a steel-welded or concrete tank, however; Our panel tanks are less than half the price of a concrete or steel welded tank and can be easily modified or relocated. Our clients find that the benefits of a panel fire tank easily negate any disadvantages.
- Each tank can be modified according to the operating needs of the client with a simple bolt-on process. This means that our clients can add stairs, manholes, and other fittings to their tank design.
- Our tanks are created using up to 20mm thick panels with a galvanised steel coating. This makes for strong and durable emergency water storage.
- The tanks can also be modified for years after install, meaning the waterproofing can be upgraded at any time, along with the roofing, and other external features.
- The tanks we install come with several options for waterproofing. Our engineers are industry leaders in tank waterproofing advice and expertise. Our team knows that the waterproofing of your panel fire tank is critical, and can advise you of the best waterproofing to suit your goals.
Why Is An Industrial Fire Tank So Important?
In the unfortunate event of a fire at a commercial property, the business must have an emergency action plan to keep personnel safe and protect assets. To respond to an industrial fire swiftly, water needs to be available, accessible, and plentiful. This is why a quality industrial fire water tank in good working order is essential for any commercial property.
When a fire is detected, the water in the tank can be instantly accessed through a hydrant or can be automatically diverted through a sprinkler system to suppress the fire hazard. In addition to this, a recent study found that steel tanks were able to resist the heat and destruction of fire to continue being operational in circumstances when the fire was in the vicinity of the actual tank. Without this reservoir of water on standby, property and lives may be lost.
Every commercial property has a responsibility to follow the Australian standards for water storage tanks for fire protection systems (AS2304 – 2011). The Fire Protection Association of Australia states that for a business to be following best practice, the minimum standards set out in AS2304 – 2011 must be followed including side access points and the implementation of specific maintenance schedules according to the type of tank installed.
Our expert team can ensure that our client’s fire tanks satisfy the Australian Standards. As a business, best practice is always our priority, from the design process, right through to the maintenance stage.
